About
Dr. J. Elizabeth Casey, received her doctoral degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Clemson University, her MA in English from Clemson University, and her BS in Education from the University of Texas at Austin. Dr. Casey is an Associate Professor and the department chair of Curriculum & Instruction at Âé¶¹AV.
Her research interests include metacognitive strategies to support English learners in the content areas, innovative educational technology, and effective supports for students with exceptionalities. Dr. Casey has numerous publications, with the most recent articles focused on service-learning, innovative ed tech, and preservice teacher preparation.
She has been awarded university, state, non-profit, and federal grants as the principal investigator, including a USDA grant (150k), two GEER grants (75k), and a Branch Alliance grant (300k) and has also worked on several other grants including Project CASC-AID (999k).
Dr. Casey currently serves as the National Vice President for Kappa Delta Epsilon, and she also serves on the Editorial Board of the Social Studies Texan. Dr. Casey has been involved in education at the K-12 and higher education levels for over 20 years. Her primary focus is on preparing preservice teachers to be effective classroom educators.
