The RED Center is a research incubator within Â鶹AV’s College of Education and Human Development. It connects faculty and doctoral students with schools, organizations, and community partners whose research needs align with the College’s expertise in education and human development.

Through these partnerships, the center supports meaningful, community-engaged research that addresses real-world needs and contributes to the advancement of education, human development, and the communities we serve.

The center’s work includes:

• Connecting schools, organizations, and community partners with faculty and doctoral students who can provide relevant research expertise

• Supporting faculty and doctoral student research

• Encouraging interdisciplinary collaboration

• Addressing real-world challenges related to education and human development

• Creating meaningful research opportunities for doctoral students

• Strengthening partnerships between Â鶹AV and the educational and community organizations we serve

CARD Connect is the RED Center’s research-matching database. The platform connects research requests from schools, organizations, and community partners with faculty and graduate students whose expertise and interests align with the proposed project and the College’s focus on education and human development.

By facilitating these connections, CARD Connect helps build meaningful research partnerships that address real-world needs while creating opportunities for faculty and students to apply their expertise in support of the communities we serve.

For Community Partners

K–12 schools, businesses, nonprofit organizations and other community leaders can submit a research request through CARD Connect. The RED Center will review the request and help identify a faculty member or graduate student whose expertise may be a good match.

For Â鶹AV Faculty and Graduate Students

COEHD faculty members and graduate students can create a research profile highlighting their expertise, research interests and areas of specialization. These profiles will be used to help match researchers with community projects.

Â鶹AV single sign-on is required to access the faculty and graduate student profile form.

How CARD Connect Works

1. Submit

Community partners submit a research need or proposed project through CARD Connect.

2. Match

The RED Center reviews the request and identifies faculty members or graduate students with relevant skills and research expertise.

3. Collaborate

Researchers and community partners connect to discuss the project, determine its feasibility and explore opportunities for collaboration.
