AI Tools with Enterprise Protections for Faculty, Students, and Staff

Before diving in to exploring AI, it's important to find the right tool for the right job.

Note: The list below is not exhaustive. Some tools may not be available to all faculty and staff. For information on other available generative AI tools, contact universityinnovation@Â鶹AV.edu.

Text-Based Tools

Text-based generative AI tools, including Microsoft Copilot and Google Gemini, take a written prompt and produce a response in natural language. They write and edit text, generate code, translate between languages, and answer questions in a conversational exchange.

Both tools operate under Â鶹AV's enterprise agreements, which keep entered data out of the vendors' training sets and away from other users, so only Public data and information that has been appropriately de-identified should go into either tool. See LU's Data Classification standard (15.01.02) for what qualifies at each level.
