Left Vertical Navigation

The left vertical navigation is only included on left menu templates.  These menus are good for folders that contain more than one page and will self-populate as you add pages to the folder. Left vertical navigation helps the visitor connect to all content/pages in a specific folder. This type of navigation is called dynamic navigation because it’s automatically generated and updated.

This menu only picks up pages inside of folders. The image below shows the site structure on the left and the left vertical menu automatically displaying the pages that are in the "clinic-services-information" folder.

Left Navigation Example

Editors may choose which pages they want to display in the vertical navigation by checking yes or no in the "display page in navigation" section of the EDIT window.

Reordering Your Menu

The asset tree (Site Content menu) displays your folders and pages in alphabetical order but your menu items should always be displayed in order of importance.  To adjust the order of your left menu:

  1. Highlight the folder where the pages reside by clicking on the arrow (>) on the right of the folder while hovering
  2. The folder pages will then be displayed on the main screen
  3. Click on the "order" heading
  4. Drop and drag the items to the order you desire
